- The purpose of a
PAT Testing Site Survey is
to:
- Identify all the
locations for
Portable Appliance testing.
- Evaluate the
accessibility of
each Portable Appliance Test.
- Identify any
specific requirements
for PAT Testing.
- Establish an
overall total of
Portable Appliance Testing in each location.
- Provide a more accurate quote.
A
quotation
is a composed estimate from a PAT Testing evaluation of
the site survey, based on how many items are expected to
be PAT Tested
and the duration of time required to test
them.
There are two
basic parts involved within
the
PAT Testing
procedure:
-
The formal visual
inspection of the plug,
lead and
appliance.
-
The electrical test
consisting of Earth
bond
(class
1 only),
Insulation
(class 1&2),
Earth
leakage
(IT equipment),
and Polarity
(cables).
Optional tests
-
Maintenance and Repair
where possible.
-
Functional test
to make sure the item works correctly and is
suitable for the environment in which it is being
used.
All PAT Testing is performed in accordance with the
Institute of
Electrical Engineers (IEE)
code of practice for in-service inspection and
testing of electrical equipment. We PAT Test 230 volts,
115 volts, and 3 phase.
-
PAT Testing Pass or
Fail labels are
adhered to portable appliances with the date of the next
due test.
-
PAT Testing Conformation
Certificate to be displayed on the
Health and Safety
board.
-
PAT Testing Certificate/Report
of individual Portable Appliance Tests in PDF format.
-
Compact disc
of asset database - allowing you to access and
print out your own data.
